Description
This gorgeous reinterpretation of the DPS from the hardcover edition of the Havok & Wolverine: Meltdown (see additional image) was a generous gift for my graduation from nursing school as well as my 47th birthday on 12/09/2021 (they were the same day) from my good friend Eric DLS.

We attended the 2016 SDCC together, and that's when he acquired it from Kent Williams originally. I brought it to his attention, only because I knew I couldn't afford it, and had quipped that I would have bought it myself, if I had had the funds.

Thanks again Eric, you know I love this, and it was very generous of you to gift it to me.

Before anything else, a quick THANK YOU to your brother Joel for swinging by to pick this up and bring it down to hand deliver it to you.  Glad we were able to keep it a surprise.

And now let me say again, how very happy and very proud I am of you for this amazing accomplishment.  I know how hard you worked for it, and what tough challenges you faced.  When you began this journey, both Mom and Nana were still with us.  I can't’ even imagine how difficult it must have been to focus on school after losing two of the dearest people in your life.  I don’t doubt that their absence made your graduation bittersweet.  But I know in my heart that they were both right there with you, and that they were every bit as proud of you as I am.

What a noble profession you’ve chosen my friend.  I can certainly attest to this firsthand.    Both times when my Mom was hospitalized, while it was the doctors who saved her life (twice), it was really the nursing staff at all the various facilities she stayed, that helped her get through the many long months of recovery, and ultimately, made the most lasting impression.  As you join the frontline battle, I hope you’ll take pride in knowing what a huge difference you’ll be making in the lives of your patients and their families.  I love you brother.

Out of context, this piece puts you into the mindset of man howling to the moon with all his might.  It makes you feel the strain and the mental need to unload the stress and weight of the world.  Williams' unique vision reinterprets with a sharp focus to retain the energy and emotion of the original to make it stand on its own.

Very nice piece.  Leave it to Eric DLS to celebrate your birthday and congratulate you on your graduation in (probably) the bestest way possible.  I hope you have many great birthdays and a great career ahead of you.

Mind-blowingly cool Wolverine painting! Kent Williams really captured the feral essence of Wolverine here, that part of him that connected with his darker side! What a fabulous gift to you! Congratulations and good luck on your new career!
