Description
I realized that part of what I collect is designed to connect me to my childhood. Back in the early 80's I was at a comic book shop in Chicago and they had a large piece of john Byrne art for sale. This was the group drawing in the "Art of John Byrne" artbook. The Marvel piece,
drawn and colored by Byrne. It was amazing and 600$ (which at the time might as well have been one million). I've been chasing a Byrne/Austin Superman piece for a while now and have always come up short. Then I saw this. Classic 80's Byrne/Austin and colored by Byrne.

The classic Byrne / Austin team is iconic.  Austin just brings out and emphasizes the best and true superhero spirit of Byrne's heroes.

I expect this cost you considerably more than $600.00. What would the other piece cost now? I read Johns revamp at the time and can imagine the joy this gives you. It would have looked even better if Austin had done the inks, like here.

I'm sure the other piece is north of 100K.  This piece is awesome and connects me to that time.

Incredible piece ! A perfect example of Byrne's Superman (and Austin's inks don't hurt...)
