I couldn't resist this opening page from Issue 19. The image of Chamber, Synch and Skin on giant toad has no tie to the story, but it's cool! And clearly something Chris wanted to draw based on his note right in the artwork:

"This page is a selfish indulgence on my part and has absolutely nothing to do with the following story - Humbly yours, Chris".

It also invokes one of my favorite Shel Silverstein poems 'Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too'. That could just be me though!

Who cares about the story? How often do you get a chance to see a humongous frog used as a mount? Congrats.

Bachalo was on the top of his game with the clean and slick Buckingham inks. You can tell exactly what's happening even with so much ink on it as there is a great sense for reflective lighting to show the different textures.

Absolutely brilliant splash by Chris Bachalo! It's like you are high when you're looking at his art and that's why I love it so much. Mark Buckingham makes this piece even better!

An amazing and very memorable page from Bachalo. He brought so much creativity to this series. Generation X was such a great book.
