Panel 1: American casualties lay everywhere. They had to be left behind.
Panel 2: The withdrawal turning into a riot as men ran for their lives under the enemy fire.
Panel 3: At first it looked like Task Force Smith had been nearly wiped out, but in time more than half their number would make it back to American lines. Maggie Higgins was in the headquarters of the 34th Infantry Regiment of the 24th Division when a couple of rain soaked survivors told their frightening story...Maggie noticed the officers of the 34th looked very concerned.
Panel 4: There was plenty to be concerned about. American patrols had found the bodies of some captured American and South Korean soldiers. Their hands has been tied behind them and they had been shot in the back...It was also rumored that South Korean soldiers had beheaded 50 North Korean prisoners. This claim, however, was never proven.
