DescriptionOne of the first comics I read back when I was 9 years old - read and re-read until I had to staple the pages together.Thanagar and Rann in one of their early wars - Hawkman is a bit testy with Adam Strange since Adam blew a hole in the side of the Hawks' Thanagarian cruiser in the previous issues. Always had a soft spot for the spaceship - clearly designed during the space race - and love getting original pieces with it. Social/Sharing |

This has to be Star Wars inspired if done in 1978! Only Kirby and a few would have had the imagination to accomplish such an epic double pager! Milgrom really digs in and the classic Anderson Hawkman inks make all the explosions and the tiny panels look very pretty surrounding the chaos.

Definitley has Star Wars vibes (full circle in a way - Hawkman inspired by the Hawkman from Flash Gordon, Star Wars also inspired by Flash Gordon...)!

This DPS is one he'll of a buy. Murphy Anderson did a great job on these Showcase issues. This evokes the 60's. Beautifully done. Loved the Adam Strange and Hawkman team ups. Where did you find this?

I was beyond thrilled to get this - those Showcase issues were my main introduction to comic books.
I was shocked that it was listed on eBay last year.
