Description
Here we see Jushin Liger delivering a brutal clothesline as part of Daniel Warren Johnson's Inktober sketch series from 2019. I felt a similar pain earlier today, when I received a second email from Felix telling me I had not scored a page from the Do A Powerbomb #2/#3 drop.

Faithful character design and positioning of each wrestler make for a high action sequence in this sketch. It's impressive to see just how well that action comes across with the motion lines and the recipient being almost upside down. You really can feel the pain :)

Jushin Liger is one of, if not DWJ's favorite wrestler, and he even made a mini comic about him. If you are unfamiliar, it is called “Thank You, Liger” and it is a stunning book! I highly recommend finding a copy. You can also hop on over to M L's page to see the jaw dropping originals from it. I am pleased to get a piece with Liger, due to Daniel's love and passion for the wrestler, and this has enough action to suffice.

Thanks as always to Felix, Yams, and DDubbs for another beauty.

I really love DWJ's wrestling artwork and sorry to hear you missed out at the drop. I lucked out today after many unsuccessful attempts at earlier drops.

However, I don't feel too bad for you because you scored this great piece! It really reflects the heightened emotion and intense action of wrestling--qualities which are also present in DAPB.

Thanks Mark, and that is exactly how it goes, you just have to keep trying. I had good luck on the first issue drop, but not today. Awesome to hear that you got one!!

BOOM!  You can feel that clothesline coming at you through the page.  Great pickup, Tyler!

That's what Good Ol' JR would call turning a guy inside out!  The energy of impact and the screentone to create foreground shadow is great by DWJ!

Just love the motion effects, faces, contorted hands, crazy poses, and smackdown emanations from this electric piece!

Striking DWJ piece! His Wrestling artwork is crazy cool! I love all the exaggerated moves, over-the-top throws, insane leaps, agonized faces and contorted bodies Darren comes up with! This Inktober piece is a classic!

Geez you blink for a second and there's Tyler adding some more insane artwork to his collection! DWJ's pieces are always great but there's always a little something extra to the pieces he's really into and you got a great one! Congrats!
