Our friendly neighborhood UPS man delivered this earlier today. By artist Lawrence Sterne Stevens, it was used on the cover of the March 1948 issue of Fantastic Novels, illustrating A. Merritt's classic fantasy novel, "The Ship of Ishtar."

I'm not usually a big fan of montages, but this one well laid out compositionally speaking and the artistry is apparent. The texture of the canvas adds to the overall beauty as well. Congrats, Doug!

Nice with the wrinkles on the canvas just at the right spots. Very romantic with how the couple is depicted as he's holding her so delicately and lovingly.

Phenominal! My ATF Lawrence! I remember always seeing this one on Gerry de la Ree's living room wall during my many visits. Its found a wonderful home! Congrats!
