Description
Another of my "alternate and unpublished covers" commissions, using rejected or otherwise unpubished All-Star Squadron cover designs, worked up using the trade dress of the *actual* cover by Bambos Georgiou.

This is based on a colour guide that another collector posted on here, along with the original art of the actual cover (and yes, I am phenomenally jealous of that). I'm not sure why this one was rejected, but it must have been pretty late in the process for there to have been a colour guide prepared - possibly it was felt that the pose of the giant (Joe Morgan) who the All-Stars are fighting was a bit unwieldy? We'll probably never know (though I will ask Roy Thomas in case he can recall).

Regardless - here's the unused cover to All-Star Squadron Annual #1, as it might have appeared in the alternate dimension of Earth-JJ

First of all, gotta love that DC Annual header for the early 80's time period.  Second, that guy is off base as this looks nothing like the late Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Morgan.  Third and last, this is a gangbuster cover design pulling everyone's effort together and giving everyone a chance to shine.
