Description

From my favorite run of Hawkman, the Isabella/Howell run in the mid 80’s. Hawkman investigating the secret invasion that happened before Secret Invasion. Loved Howell’s take on the character and Alcala’s inks always looked so lush to me.

(I also love when there are tiny versions of the character on a page for some reason.)

Love the wall and floor in the first and third panels - very Alcala! Great page overall.

Howell's layout is pretty fun. Right after the first rectangle, he goes freehand to make the borders fit around the art rather than the other way around. The Alcala inks evelate everything on this page as what should be just solid black shadows show so much more linework than just ink fill.

Cool to see Hawkman doing a bit of detective work and always love seeing Alcala's lush inks! Congrats!
