Description

Original cover art from Johnny Bruck (March 22, 1921 - October 6, 1995). Gouache on illustration board. Roughly 14x20 in B3 format size.

Cover of German Atlan episode 709, published in 1985 under the title 'Der Modulmann' (The Module Man).

Atlan da Gonozal is a main character of the Perry Rhodan series. Given the character was very popular, it was given its own series within the Perry Rhodan universe starting 1969. It was quite successful and the last edition #850 was published in 1988. Johnny Bruck painted the majority of covers.

Everything about space exploration was very optimistic in 1985 and our imaginations carried us away in video games and movies of that time period. Besides being a fabulous Atlan cover, this is great representation of that era when we looked up at the limitless possibilities of space exploration for all mankind.
