Adam Hughes, Nexus issue 57 page 6, First Comics 1989

"I thought I had destroyed all the demons ... but then, in my dreams, another appeared, nagging at me like an insect bite ..."

The great Adam Hughes penciled only issue 57 of Nexus, but it was an action-packed one as all hell breaks loose in and around Ylum. Sundra tries to destroy the Merk and the Loomis sisters are killed (presumably) after they attack Horatio, who is saved by his daughters Sheena and Scarlett. Notwithstanding Sundra's intent to harm it, the Merk saves her from Farouk, the last of the demons. Stanislaus Korivitsky is chosen as the New (new) Nexus.

And an unchecked arms race between Vooper and Honest Crocus breaks out in part 2 of "Trade War."

I love Adam's note on the bottom right, asking the colorist to show fusion energy coming out of the Merk's hand as he destroys the demon.
