This series was when I noticed the start of the craze of the Felix instant sell outs. In the end, my favorite pages of the series are the quiet moments of the son (who's actually us) when he talks about having to deal with his father having Alzheimers. I don't even remember if they put the name to the disease in the book. This however is Emmet in a well designed power composition by Zaffino. Valofax is drawn large, mythically large, in a manner that suits all of his artwork.
Well said, as always, Marcus. This was a really unique series. Brilliant in its execution over a relatively short mini-series. We rarely encounter such powerful stories that still stay true to the fantasy and action which we also like.
It was a memorable story for sure. The Zaffino covers provided a nice contrasting style to Shaw's main art. Good stuff!

I may be wrong, but I don't recall the disease's name being mentioned in the story. Either way, it was a wholly unique and inventive way to bring attention to the effects of an insidious disease. Congratulations on owning all the art made for this issue. I've been saying it for a few years now, Gerardo Zaffino has surpassed his late father and I'm sure Jorge is smiling down upon him now in agreement.
Many thanks, Rubén. You may well be correct, but the condition is clear right from the outset/first issue. This cover is indeed more dynamic than the original and it really rounds off the entire original artwork for this particular (and finale) issue.

I haven't read everything more modern but for me, God Country was the most accessible highlight of the 2010s - wise call on the complete story!

Congrats on a great score! I was snapping up GC pages from every felix drop starting with #2 (which wasn't a pre-announced drop - they evolved as a thing throughout the series) and was pretty bummed #6 was bought complete. But whatcha gonna do - all I can say now is congrats on buying the book and also keeping it. I look forward to seeing pages here some day.
