DescriptionPublished 1962How Kid Colt Became an Outlaw! written by Stan Lee The Kid kills Lash Larribee in a fair fight, but Lash's men are afraid of the Kid. So they lie to the sheriff, accusing KId Colt of murder. Kid decides to run rather than stay and face his accusers and is forever branded an outlaw. When Stan rewrote this story, he changed a number of things, he changed the character of Lash Larribee from a corrupt lawman in a corrupt town to a local thug In that scenario, the odds were stacked against Kid Colt and it was unlikely that he could find justice, and he had no choice but to flee. Here he gives him a choice so that it could become a cautionary tale. Social/Sharing |

Desperado, you know you ain't gettin' Jack Keller
You're Blaine and those rumors, they're drivin' from home
And freedom, oh freedom
Well, that's just frontiersmen talkin'
Your prison is waiting
Through this world all alone
And know defeat Kid Colt in the winner time?
The line won't show, and the guns won't shine
It's hard to tell the night-time from the page
You're horsin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feelin' post today?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Gunsmoke from defences, don't run away
You may be runnin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let Larribee haunt you (Best that Stan Lee wrote you)
Let somebody love you before it's too late

A very nice way to end the story. Great fun to have so many pages featuring his origin!
