Rogers shows a full range of his abilities in Coyote and this one has just as much dramatic tension and urgency than any superhero conflict.  The greytones and zip work very well to give this an old school illustration look, but with the modern 80's clean line aesthetic.

You have a keen eye, Marcus! I absolutely love this whole sequence (i'm fortunate enough to have 3 pages from it!) and, as you say, the storytelling has as much tension and drama as any conflict - just beautifully nuanced through Rogers' shifts of angle, zooms in and out, and his masterful use of shadow and zipatone to define form. 

I adore this page! So much brilliant technique. Photos - and in fact even the printed version in colour - do not do the original art justice. It's poetry.
