Paper Girls (2015-2019), written by Brian K Vaughan with artwork by Cliff Chiang, is my favorite modern Image Comics series and my favorite series written by BKV. It tops "Y The Last Man" and "Saga" for me, even though I enjoy those books a lot as well. I've read the whole thing several times at this point, and highly recommend it. It's only 30 issues total, so it's never too late to experience it if you missed the boat back when it was coming out in single issue form. It also had a helluva 1 season run on live action TV/Streaming through Amazon Prime Video, but it's a shame they didn't get to finish telling the story with a 2nd season, the quality was certainly there.

I've been happy to add pages to the collection from the book at various times, primarily from this portion of the run (volume 3 in trade paperback form, issues 11-15), but some from other arcs as well. In this volume the girls find themselves in a new era in the pre historic past as they attempt to uncover the secret origins of the time travel mystery they find themselves in and the key players/elements involved, or else they risk never returning home to their current/present timeline in 1988.

To kick off issue 14 together with Wari the girls come upon a "breathing boulder" creature who is under attack from a pack of tigers. Wari takes down a tiger with her bow & arrow, which becomes the group's next meal - the thought of which disgusts Tiffany so much that she claims she's now a vegetarian on the next page.

And just for fun I'll add a song choice because this track randomly came on while I was in the car earlier today and it seemed appropriate as I went to post this piece. I actually put this song out and released it to the market when I was at Interscope/DGC Records 14 years ago in my music industry career! Good memories.
