Guadalupe by Gilbert Hernandez

Heartbreak Soup is Gilberto Hernandez’s contribution to the seminal comic “Love and Rockets” that debuted back in the mid-80s. Set in the fictional community of Palomar, we as an audience are privy to the minutia of these character’s lives by means of the artist’s very humane storytelling and remarkable illustrative skills.

By the time I got to their table for a brief chat with Gilbert and Jaime, there were only a few of these pre-convention sketches remaining. I can’t understand why this charming drawing of Guadelupe was left behind, but in retrospect, I like to think I lucked out!
