Description
With Batman in hot pursuit, the KGBeast (in his second appearance issue) drives a dagger into the Dark Knight's wrist before making a daring rooftop escape!

I recently realized that there are dozens of artists in my collection who are not represented at all in my CAF gallery, so I'm going to try and dribble out some representative examples of some of them here in the coming months.

One of those artists is the great Jim Aparo (1932-2005). Here's a great action sequence from the KGBeast's second appearance issue, showcasing the agile, elite assassin leading Batman on a wild chase across the rooftops of Gotham City. I read the Ten Nights of the Beast storyline when it came out and really enjoyed this and the other "grim 'n gritty" Batman stories that Jim Starlin was writing in those days, as well as Aparo's art!

I never expected to see a DC page in your gallery, but you sure picked a good one to make an impression.

Beautiful Aparo example! If you didn't have an Aparo page before, this is a great one to start with!

The raised brow on Batman is just one of the great Aparo-isms on this page.  The DeCarlo inks tightens everything up and ratches up the tension of the chase scene!  Ten Nights of the Beast is one of the classic four issue story arcs of Batman for this era that made it to book stores.

For many, Aparo was "the" Batman artist for years.  Excellent example from a great run.
