DescriptionI remember being thrilled to find issues of the 1985 Marvel UK Captain Britain series at my local comics shop and it made me an instant Alan Davis fan. While I still don't own any art from that series, I do have this great Captain Britain cover from Knights of Pendragon #5 (1990 series) that was published a few years later.This cover was both penciled and inked by Alan Davis. He drew much of the background on a vellum overlay which does not display well. Phill R. from Phantom Restoration did a really nice job of creating a clear overlay with title stats that displays much better. I've included images here of the art board (with no overlay) as well as the original art overlay. Social/Sharing |

Davis was a big reason Marvel UK was put on the map! This is a top tier cover of the 18 issue run! Straight forward fire!

Would love to find one example of the original Cap Britain run . This one captures the atmosphere perfectly

This is magnificent!! Huge Davis fan myself.. one of those pages you mentioned from the CB series hangs in my hallway.. but this just makes me jealous!

A strong leaping pose for Captain Britain. The Restoration work was evidently worthwhile, as the background effects look spectacular here. Great, dynamic cover from Davis!
