The Mystery Legionnaire!
written by Cary Bates

Page 10 of story

Cos (whose new super power seems to be super explaining) explains to Klim what happened when he was last defeated.
On this page it is said that he was frozen solid by liquid nitrogen whereas on page 5, it was stated that it was liquid oxygen that froze. Despite still being a misapplication of Chemical King's powers, nitrogen makes more sense since it is more plentiful in the air (78%) than oxygen (21%) and Nitrogen has a slightly higher freezing point (-210C (-346F)) than oxygen (-219C (-362F)).

Man every page of this story has had excellent art by this team. That shot of Klim in panel 5 with the reflections of Legionnaires on his eyes is perfect!

Love pages with eye reflections within!

I can attest to the fact that his super explaining power is overwhelming! You kno, this is one of those instances where the internet not existing in these days isn't a good enough excuse. The publishers, writers, etc. all had access to the public library if they didn't already have an old set of encyclopedias. It's pretty lazy writing, though no doubt he figured since he was writing for children primarily, he wouldn't likely get called out on it.
