DescriptionIn this key early issue, we begin to learn about Rollin Sykes, stepfather of Norbert Sykes, AKA the Badger. Sykes is an important off-stage presence, as his violent and sexual abuse of Norbert lead to his mental illness and multiple personalities. It's great to see that more complex side to the character and how trauma doesn't just go away, but lingers even for heroes.

I agree 100% - it makes the character's flaws more complex and meangingful. However, I quibble with this - you call the Badger a "hero" ... ? Baron designed him to be the embodiment of an idea, that any person who willingly puts on a costume is obviously insane.

He's damaged, but he is the protagonist.
