Description
Just took this one out of an old frame. I was lucky enough as a kid to be invited over to Paul's apartment to talk comics. He asked what he could draw for me and I said Dr. Strange. So here it is from 1983. Every time I look at this I am transported to that time, such good memories. Here I am today, just a much older and hopefully wiser geek.

I added an additional picture with more contrast so you can see it the way I do.

(personalization redacted in image)

The vintage pieces hold a charm all their own.  Not too tight and not too loose as Smitty aimed to please every fan with a complete work in his early days.

Awesome Paul Smith Dr Strange piece and even better story about your experience spending time with him as a kid when he drew it. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic pure pencils image!   Smitty's style is so smooth and consistent.   Interesting that even way back when, he was signing things "PMS"!

The part I redacted was the personalization and his full signature [Paul Martin Smith]. A decade later he told me that he did stop using the full signature and just used the PMS. If I recall correctly, Steve Rude told him to stop using his official signature for autographs.
