DescriptionFollowing Danny's journey into comics has been a real treat and he hit the ground running once he broke through. So much so that we've been chatting about a commission for a little bit but he found time hard to come by with pro assignments. When he signed with Felix, I had the opportunity to grab this cover with his signature city and perspective work. This will do...for now...Social/Sharing |

Wow. I love the perspective on this one. And a published Spawn cover is no minor achievement! Big congrats!

Is there anybody going to listen to high city
All about the Earls who came today?
It's the high up Earls you want so much it’s made through Danny
Still you don't regret a soccer play
Ah, Earls
Earls
When I think of all the times I've tried for art Eranga
He will turn Lu, we’ll start to buy
And he promises it’s wash to me and I’m midfielder
After all the lines I trust design
Ah, Earls
Earls
He's the kind of Earls who puts to Spawn
When friends are there you feel it too
When you say Al Simmonds good
We act as if it's understood he's cool
Ooh, oh!
Ooh, oh!
Ooh, oh!
Earls
Earls

It's been great watching his star rise and seeing him consistently churn out great work like this Spawn cover with his signature use of buildings to enhance the mood and feel of the character.

"This will do for now"? Man, get a little success and a bit of money and suddenly the nouveau riche are eating the poor they themselves used to be! Congrats on the add, rich boy!

I really enjoyed seeing this one in person at NYCC. Danny is great. Looking forward to your inevitable Cable.

Man, this composition really works - I love the main character but the background is equally. or more, impressive. It comes together for a perfet cover. Congrats E!

Love his style so much and this is a banger! So much detail and that's not even counting the chains.

Absolutely stunnning Spawn cover by Danny Earls! Wow, I can't get over the intricate linework Danny used here! So many fire esapes, so many buildings. It's almost an Escher-like treatment of the cityscape! Poor Spawn looks trapped by all the buildings and fire escapes surrounding him. Danny's linework is further enhanced by his deft use of ink washes to create a sense of depth and distance. I like Danny's sparing use of blacks on the topmost fire escape and on the brick buildings on both sides of Spawn. They both frame the scene and add to a sense that Spawn is trapped by the ciry he lives in. Stunning work by Danny Earls! Great pick-up, congrats!
