Out like Flint! ;)
Ha ha. Yes, the Flint films were great and a big inspiration here.
Striking action! Loving the 2000AD´strip format!
Thanks Toni! The double page splashes gave the artists so many more options for panel layouts and storytelling. Carlos went for a very cinematic sequence on this occasion.
Great DPS with intense knife fight action! I think I need a much larger (and wider) computer monitor just to look at this scan fully blown up because it's so huge, haha! I really do appreciate the effort collectors make to bring the highest possible resolution imaging to their premium galleries for us to enjoy though so kudos for that!
Ha ha. Yes, I may have overdone it with the size of the scan, but I'm glad it's appreciated.
I am afraid I am going to have to report Slippery Jim to the HSE. That top railing is not up to code. It should be 37.4 inches to prevent injuries like this from happening.
But how will he fit "AAAAAAARGH!" into the incident report form?
Impeccable quality! It needed this large size to capture the Ezquerra choreographed action that builds momentum to the right all the way to the end.
I was a big fan of the Stainless Steel Rat stories by Harry Harrison. The character debuted in Astounding Magazine in 1957. Of course I didn't encounter the stories until I read the collected editions in paperback form in the 70's. I see this adapted comic series was collected in a Trade Paperback. I should try to find that.
Great art by Carlos Ezquerra!
Thanks! Glad to have encouraged you to have a look at the Trade Paperback. The Stainless Steel Rat for President adaptation was probably the best. It was a lot of fun.
impressionnant pièce tornado - congrats !!
Thanks, my friend!
Didnt realize Mr.Kotter, from Welcome Back Kotter made an appearance in 2000AD! Very Cool!! Nice art too!
Yes, good point. That height shot was needed to really show the danger of the platform. Thanks, Daniel!
Beautiful artwork by Ezquerra. Loved Stainless Steel Rat!
Thanks - glad you like it! I have another page to scan as well from another SSR story. Pages from this strip don't seem easy to find, so I guess there is a big collector out there.
