Yes!!! You got it! Congrats.
In full candor, I partnered with a winner to make sure the auction went smoothly. It's good to have friends like Lambert Sheng!!
Huge congrats, beautiful piece from Carolyn! You just gotta follow the path.
Nancy is looking a little frazzled there, but I guess 101 years in the business can do that. Nice illo.
When it comes to cover art or promotional pieces, my tastes changed over the years and I became much more interested to own a piece that was representative of the entire title in question, or of an entire storyline, rather than a cover that only represents a single issue of a story/title. So, promo pieces that promote a title in general, or Trade Paperback cover art because it represents an entire storyline within that title. I just feel they mean more because they encompass more than just what happens in a single issue of a story of that title.
That's what I love about this piece. That it is only promoting the artist's current work in a small, cameo-like way, and primarily representative of an entire event during which many collectors gathered to celebrate the hobby as a whole. Congrats, Chris!
We are twin sons of different mothers, Ruben. I could have written what you wrote word-for-word. Thanks for the spot-on comment!
Wonderful image! So many influences in Cash's style at least to my eye, including such disparate artists as Charles Burns and Frank King
Out of all of the OAX promotional pieces, this was definitely my favorite out of them. One of the best things about OAX is getting turned out to other artists that I wasn't as familiar with before attending, and Caroline is on the radar for me now. Was a pleasure seeing and talking to you at the show, and looking forward to when our paths cross again. Thanks for sharing!
Great looking piece. I saw Sean share the image a few weeks back and thought it was great. I am really happy to see others taking notice of her work and the rest of the funny farm at Athenaeum art. Sean is doing important work there.
Cash is King! I like her path leads to the Nancy strip work!
Delightful. And the description makes me wanna attend OAX some time...
You picked that up? Nice!!!
Fantastic piece.
This was my favorite of all the promo images, but it took another collector for me to actually check out her art at the show. Always a fan of cartoony styles, and this does not disappoint. Congrats on the pickup!
