Marvel 2-in-1 #3 page 15 - Thing and Daredevil

Has that classic 1970s Marvel aesthetic that seemed to reflect the New York City of the time.

Sweet!!  I was always tickled by Marvel Two-In-One.  Not only because the Thing was the main player, but because almost completely regardless of who Benji's guest star was, it was going to be something a little more special or unique (or at least further off the beaten path) than what was happening over in Marvel Team-Up (as I felt Spidey normally teams up with everybody anyways, over in his own book).  A whole two issues (including DD #110) featuring the Thing and ol' Hornhead?  Right on!  This is a great page featuring both heroes, put over the top by those lovely inks - most especially that bottom tier of panels!  Ben's fist alone in panel 7 is worth the price of admission (and panel 8 gives it a good run for its money) but the whole page is Bronze Age gold. Great example, Paul - big congrats!

Thanks, Jason. Yes, seeing Ben team up was always a bit special - as he never seemed to want to, preferring a beer and watching a game on TV. The grumpiness added to the charm.

Well, I'm so glad it's that much to your taste. It's amazing how many of the comics I first gravitated towards were drawn by Sal - even before I was really aware of which artist was which.

Great page!  Joe Sinnott inking consistently ensured the Thing looked like the Thing.  DD to boot.  Can't ask for more.

Great sequence of panels from Sal and Joe. DD and Thing teaming up brings hijinx and fun! A fake blimp!? hahA! 2 in 1 was such a charming series, I recall finding old issues when first getting into comics and reading random ones. Used to own a Thing/Thor (I think? a bit hard to remember) 2 in 1 page when I first got into the hobby but later sold it or used it in a trade. I'd like to find another one that appeals to me down the line. Thanks for sharing, this is a gem!

Wait a minute...a New York character with super strength made of living rock and a blind guy with super senses acute enough to taste individual ingredients in food I can believe.  But a metal transport landing on an electrified surface and not immediately conducting electricity itself?  As Mr. Fantastic would say: "You gotta be kidding me!"...

Mighty CLANG and electrifying THAM page with a nice but strange pairing of classic heroes from the House of Ideas (and don't forget that the blind one was the FF's lawyer from in the early days of Yore at Marvel in the Silver Age and up:)! And Joe's inks are still the greatest on Bejamin, no matter who he penciled The Thing !

True. It's that cosy, family double act feel. The Thing brings the best out of his fellow heroes.
