These sketchbooks provided a lot of insight into what Toth was interested in, in his retirement. Lot of noir and period movies apparently. A lot of it was done in the same manner of animation design work.
Toth always kept that pencil moving. Cool sketches.

Cool Toth doodles! Toth on GA Sandman is one a helluva "What If" but it's cool to see even at this sketchy phase what it might have been like.
Would of been so cool to see Toth do GA Sandman; these are pretty awesome! I always thought GA Sandman is one of the coolest looking designed characters in all of comics.
Any chance Toth did these drawing as concept work for the animation industry? Either way, it's really cool stuff!
I don't think that's Sandman. I think it's Toth's own creation (The Fox) who just happens to look identical to GA Sandman. Awesome piece!
