The Evil Eye by Steve Bissette

I was in full-on fan boy mode when Bissette and Totleben came to the Carolinas back in the early 1980's. And let me tell you, both gentlemen were wonderfully friendly and open with me and the other fans there. He really took his time with this sketch which he finished in markers and silver ink. (I wish he would come back and do his own comics again.) And one more thing that some of you might find interesting or perhaps find hard to believe. I had this drawn to illustrate a script I was working on in one of my college classes, and I asked Steve to use a young version of Sting as a model for the hero. Steve said he found my choice of reference very interesting, and he told me to keep my eye out for a new character in Swamp Thing. The guys were working on the script to"The Nukeface Papers" at the time and so, this was drawn before, you guessed it, Sting-doppleganger John Constantine was introduced a few issues later.
