I've been planning on this secret commission for quite some time with Charles Hall, surprising my buddies. It's based on the iconic Nighthawks piece by Edward Hopper. Recognize anybody? Dave G and wife Sherry, KG behind the counter, and myself with Coda. Thanks Charles for hitting a grand slam with this one! Oh yeah... this piece IS going on my wall.

This is hilarious, Shawn, I love it! It is a bit ironic in that the original Nighthawks is said to create an atmosphere of loneliness and isolation, whereas the figures in this version are some of the most fun and friendly folks I know.

I was really taken aback by this painting. The boundaries between fine art and comic art are now a thing of the past.
