Description

A terrific realisation of a concept I commissioned from Greg Woronchak, who really puts his all into his work.

I'd thought about something like this for a while; The Joker card is a common trope in Batman stories, but what about treating the other characters in similar fashion;The Ace, King and Queen, Jack and 10 of Bats (If Nightwing isn�t a �10�, no one is! :) ).

Plus, the two faces on each face card would allow two different takes on the characters, old and new style Batman, Barbara and Cassie Batgirls, Dick and Tim Robins. I wasn�t sure how Nightwing would work, but hey, it�s the Joker, he never plays with a standard deck!

I also wasn�t sure of the layout, maybe just designs for the cards themselves, but Greg wanted to try something a little more jazzy. First up he suggested a familiar gloved hand in a pinstripe suit holding the cards fanned.

Then he came up with this far more dynamic approach of the Joker playing five card pick up� with a certain someone about to make sure the cards isn�t stacked TOO much. (Okay, I�ll stop with the card puns now)

I�m delighted by the outcome, even the Ace is perfect (I�d wondered about whether to make the Ace the Batsignal, but in the end, it HAD to be Ace the Bat-hound, and I think Greg would NOT have been happy at being denied the opportunity!)

I particularly like the differing types of �cape swirl� used in each card.
