Description
Caran d'Ache (Emmanuel Poiré, 1858-1909) was an early French cartoonist, and by doing works in a sequential form, one of the forefathers of comics.
As this note shows, not only was his penname later adopted by a prominent manufacter of art supplies, they even took his signature as their logo!
