My first Infantino page from Star Wars, even if it was a less-seen-in-the-States Star Wars Weekly page. This one must have been done in a bit of a rush, (or else the UK production was assembled differently than its US counterpart) it's missing several elements which appeared on the final published page, such as the top and bottom info and some Zipitone� effects.

...and the Storytelling is what impresses me - take a look at how much action and implied action is packed into the few panels on this page. That's old-school Archie Goodwin.

EDIT TO ADD: The publishing schedule for Star Wars Weekly was accomplished by splitting the stories designed for its monthly US sister magazine into thirds. Since the US version of the book only had one title page per book, additional recap/title pages would have to be generated to bring a reader up to speed for the last two installments of a split story. This is one such recap page, produced to sum up the events of Star Wars Weekly # 97 & 98; and as such, explains and underscores my earlier observation about the hasty storytelling on display.

For display purposes, I have generated a copy of the original Title Box and Page One Indicia and placed them on a clear overlay to accompany the page.

Howard Bender is credited as 'TONIST' which I presume is the person who preps a stat of the original art with 'Zipatone'� for publishing in a B&W book.
