Description

From Secret Six # 2.

My collection was starting to be heavily overweighted towards Spider-Man recently so I thought I would try to balance things out with a little bit of Batman. I absolutely love Cliff's dark moody drawings. His brush work is often reminiscent of Milton Caniff and David Mazzuchelli. I would love to see Cliff be the regular artist on a Bat title before it truly becomes Batman R.I.P.

The fact that this is the second Batman vs. Catman piece in my collection is just pure coincidence (the other piece being a splash by Don Newton).

Definitely seeing the Mazzuchelli flavor here. Great high-contrast example! Love those buildings in the background. Nice pick up Nelson!

Beautiful use of negative space and backgrounds to frame the Bat vs. Cat battle in the foreground. In fact, unlike so many of today's sparse and lightly inked covers, the heavy use of blacks here makes the battle in the foreground literally pop off the page. You have such a great eye Nelson. Congrats on another winner!
