Description
This is my Grail piece. I had heart palpitations the entire week this piece was on ebay. I tried very hard to get the owner to close the auction early but I couldn't. I waited until the last second and got it! Why so important to me? When I was around 7 years old I remember reading this comic and being blown away by Hank McCoy's ability to make a pseudoderm mask to cover up his furry face. That one panel stuck with me and I never forgot the cover. Kane and Everett are my two favorite artists and this piece truly makes me feel like a kid again! Now you can't beat that

i remember, as a kid, loving the Beast, my favorite of the X-Men. i was disappointed when he went blue and furry, but i remember thinking the cover of this issue was terrific. decades ago, it was difficult to find back issues. i remember scouring flea markets looking for this issue and never finding it. and now you have the original art! nice work!

Mna - this is an awesome piece! I've always wanted an interior from the Beast Amazing Adventures run. You made an excellent choice with this one.

One of the best Kane cover from the famous 20c era and as Bill Thomson, I will say Everett was a perfect inker for Kane, he respect his pencils and added his touch for a very remarkable result. Great cover, congratulations !!!

I have the exact same memory of reading this book and was equally inspired by the panel you are describing. Those 20 cent Marvels really did if for me as a kid growing up in the 70's. Congrats!

Vincent...great artwork and even better, the story attached to your description. That, my friends, is the prime reason one should collect. Nuff' said!

No one has commented on this in a couple of years. That's a shame. A fabulous bronze-age masterpiece!

Bury? I would never! In fact it is on display in my showroom if  you'd like to see it in person. It hangs right next to my Subby 48 cover.

Come by the office any time if you'd like to see it. It is hanging next to the Sub-Mariner 48 cover, also a Kane/Everett collaboration. Soooo good!

Absolutely great cover. Kane has such a unique style.

Also love the "picuture frame" look that Marvel had on a lot of their books at the time. Sets the 20c period in its own "age". Bronze Window Box, maybe.
