TMNT Part 01

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles occupied a large part of my childhood. While Donny's still my favorite guy, I've come to find a piece of me in all four of them. Since news of a new TMNT movie was announced - and in spite of the negative backlash at Bay's plans for it - I decided to bring a 20-plus year old ambition of mine from the back of my mind to draw a group shot of the guys that does them justice. That being the case, I have begun prelims for my first Ninja Turtle drawing in years. The figures were photo referenced for the poses but their look is all me. 8 x 10 copy paper with HB, 4H, 3H, 2H, and F graphic leads. Still haven't decided on what Mikey's laughing at yet, but I'll think of something. Stuff like Mikey's leg, Raph's shading, and Donny and Leo's weapons aren't fully rendered yet, I know but I wanted to give you guys a taste of what I'm working on. And YES fellow traditionalists I know Leo's shoulder strap belongs on the other shoulder. Won't be repeated on the good copy.
