Description

Approaching Godzilla artist (and Micronauts fan) Phil Hester to do one of my -fake- covers, he cast a quizzical look at my initial brief: a fake 2-in-1 cover, (without the Thing - sacrilege!) of all things a MICRONAUTS vs GODZILLA concept, and based on an old Michael Golden composition to boot.

Luckily, I'd come prepared with a little Photoshop slaptogether to aid in my pitch... once he'd laid eyes on that, he 'got' the piece immediately and was bemusedly ready to get to work.

When it comes to pitching comic artists with a prospective commission idea, sometimes it helps to be prepared with a visual approach.

Nice cover. I have the perfect story for this issue: The Micronauts are injected inside Godzilla's blood stream and must fight his anti-bodies, etc. ala Fantastic Voyage.
