President Ahtisaari didn't have an easy relationship with the press. His predecessor president Koivisto had disdainfully compared journalists to lemmings in the 80s and the image stuck, especially with cartoonists.
Henrik Karlsson (b. 1956) is the current editorial cartoonist for Finland's leading daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. This one, however, was published in the journalists' union trade paper in 1999.
