Description

Book cover to Man-made Satellites, a non-fiction children's book from 1957. John Polgreen was THE space artist of children's books in the 1950s (at least in my eyes). After owning this book for years the cover is wonderfully evocative of the times. You can see the smoke trail as the satellite (planned Vanguard) leaves Florida.
