Great semi-splash of the first appearance/origin of Star-Lord (Peter Quill) from MARVEL PREVIEW PRESENTS STAR-LORD #4 in the 32-page story "Starlord First House: Earth!" published in January 1976. This page shows the first appearance of the Star-Lord costume!

Star-Lord was created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan. The son of a human mother and alien father, Peter Quill assumes the mantle of Star-Lord, an interplanetary policeman. In the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies he’s played by actor Chris Pratt.
