DescriptionJack Davis is a legend and a remarkably skilled illustrator. From comic books, Mad Magazine, record covers, movie posters, Playboy illustrations, record covers, advertising and book & magazine illustration, the guy has done it all. With an amazing body of work, there are many examples to choose from. But, when I saw this one in a Heritage auction a few moths ago…well, it just seemed perfect to me.Social/Sharing |

One of my favourites (from the incomplete American Civil War project by Kurtzman). Top-notch Davis war cover, congrats!

A noble undertaking to bring Our Civil War into this media format.Jack Davis clearly the right artist for this cover.I'm sure you have given this gem a good home Chris.The artwork must be stunning to study in person.Wow!

Another prime EC piece - Davis at his prime. He was prolific, and he was good at every genre he touched. Congrats!!

Really spectacular piece. I prefer Davis's EC war art to all other art he did. With Kurtzman at the helm, there was no doing wrong in this book.

The contrast between the darker figures in the foreground and the lighter figures in the back, and their motion, is very interesting. This is certainly a cover to get lost in. Big congrats on a powerful piece of art!
