This is the Original Art for the CLASSIC Cover of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #2 (April 1979); penciled by Jeff Aclin and inked by Joe Rubinstein. The art has been autographed by Jeff Aclin beneath the UPC box ("J. Aclin").

IMHO, this is far and away the **BEST** Cover of the entire 23 issue Marvel Comics "Battlestar Galactica" series!!!

Following the huge success of Star Wars in 1977, ABC-TV was quick to jump on the space adventure bandwagon and the result was Battlestar Galactica for the 1978 TV season.

This issue is part 2 (of 3) of Marvel's adaptation of the blockbuster Battlestar Galactica 3-hour TV Movie Pilot, "Saga of a Star World". An estimated 66 million Americans watched the premiere on Sunday, September 17, 1978 making it the Highest Rated science fiction TV episode of all time - a ratings record that still stands today.
