This is the pinnacle of Bill's New Mutant pages! So electric! I loved the work that transitioned from the solid Neal Adams-ish stuff to the expressive unbridled work that would define his career going forward. Bravo!

The Demon Bear sage was my favorite New Mutants storyline and this is an incredible scene; congratulations on an epic page!!!

I can't get over this one, Rick, and I visit it a lot, thinking I'll eventually be able to come up with a clever comment worthy of this absolutely incredible, showstopping piece of art; what an elegant, lyrical expression of this story beat and concept. It's inky music, more than anything else. I'm still working on the right comment, but I couldn't let any more time pass without posting here. What Sienkiewicz can put into pictures, most (myself included) can't put into words.

Wow! This is one of the best New Mutant pages by Bill Sienkiewicz I've seen posted! Love this scene of Magik taking on the Demon Bear! Nice set up with Cannonball flying Illyana right up to the monster. And the scene of Magik actually splitting the Bear in two is simply amazing! It's impossible not to admire Sienkiewicz's work on New Mutants! At the time, it was utterly revolutionary in its style and while it took a while for some of us (Myself included) to adjust to his stylized approach, we all came around eventually and now realize that Bill Sienkiewicz was ahead of his time. This is just a fabulous page from a time when he was challenging the very idea of what was possible in comic art!
