Description

Hellboy Krampusnacht is a one-shot winter special that won the Eisner Award for Best Single Issue/One-Shot in 2018.

Written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and illustrated (his debut on the Hellboy's Universe books) by Adam Hughes, unfolds on a cold winter night in 1970's Austria, as a mournful ghost leads Hellboy into a confrontation with the dreaded Krampus.

Adam Hughes is here showcasing his storytelling versatility. While he's best known for his beautiful renditions of the female form, he's a pretty talented horror artist as well.
Hughes' lush, detailed, organic figures in addition to striking monster designs and bold imagery really capture the Hellboy spirit very well and the vibrant colors are also a huge blessing, capturing both the cold desolation of the winter setting and the more fiery, passionate moments.
