DescriptionThis is something that was on my wish list for many years.Put together one of my very favorite comic book artists, John Paul Leon, and one of the most powerful hero/villain couples ever, Spider-Man and Green Goblin, and the result is what you can see here. A powerful, almost hypnotic, picture capturing the fight between the hero and the villain from JPL's perspective. I'm surprised people don't ask him to draw Spider-Man more often, his rendition of the character is simply stunning... amidst tons of JPL's magic, and I can feel Alex Toth's influence (man, I love Toth's work) as well as Steve Ditko's... and guess what, I got confirmation of JPL's availability to realize a commission for me the very (sad) day that Steve Ditko's passed away, so it was a no-brainer choosing the subject, it was also a way to remember and pay a tribute to not only one of Spider-Man's creators but one of the greatest comic book artists ever. Huge thanks to JP!!! Paper size: 28 x 42.2 cm Social/Sharing |

The work on the background is really impressive and the figures literally pop out of the page. Great piece!

Superb commission by John Paul Leon of Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. Leon put an enormous amount of detail into this one. It's always fun to see how different artists tackle cityscapes. Leon really knocked this one out of the park. Stunning pick-up, congrats!

JPL's precise words were: "I hardly ever get asked to do Spider-man, and I love drawing him. (Who doesn’t!)"
