Description

A recent Hellboy drawing produced by Mike in what I (childishly) like to refer to as his ‘Late Octopoid’ period - where Mike has returned to depicting Red draped with, or entangled in, various fishy tendrils and tentacles.

I picked this up because I was keen to add a companion piece for my other Hellboy bust. Two portraits produced many years apart which show a little of Mike’s stylistic evolution, reveal a more grizzled and world-weary Hellboy, and serve to highlight the rather poignant sacrifice of Hellboy’s left eye.
