Featured Artist Finlay, Virgil
Is there any fantasy artist that was more original, creative, and prolific than Virgil Finlay? If so, let me know and my mind will be blown. Finlay was a genius with the pen and with scratch board. His best art is mesmerizing - fantastical and hyper-detailed. Finlay art is finally getting its due, and I love that I have been able to pick up pieces representing his entire career - from the days of his first published art (1935), through his days working in the pulps (1940s and 50s), to his work on astrology magazines (1960s), and his attempts at fine art in the 1960s and 70s.
