Featured Artist — Rackham, Arthur
Arthur Rackham is my favorite children’s illustrator, for the simple reason that I grew up in a house where there were several Rackham books, and for my 10th birthday my grandfather bought me a copy of Rackham’s illustrated King Arthur. Of course, beyond that, Rackham is brilliant and many consider him the greatest and most influential children’s illustrator ever. Like many illustrators, there is a direct connection between Rackham and many comic artists, as well as creators like CS Lewis and Tim Burton. Rackham is one of those artists that when I was younger I never thought I would own. It’s nice when your dreams come true.
