I still have vague memories of my first trip the magical world of the ~comic book shop~. To one day realize that there were whole worlds that had nothing to do with Marvel or DC just blew my mind. I'm not sure if the 80's Mighty Crusaders #1 was actually on the shelf when I walked in the door but it might as well as been. My memories of those early visits all run together. But discovering that series definitely gets classified as a seminal moment.
While the 1980's relaunch started strong it did not end that way. Frustrated that the series never got a proper send off, I worked up an additional 4 issues that would lead up to a proper "last issue spectacular". And many, many thanks to the great Mitch Ballard and Chris Ivy for turning those ideas into something that actually looked liked it deserved to be published and finish off that fine series. So much fun was that that I decided to keep going, expanding the Mighty Archie Crusaders' universe. I hope Crusaders fans everywhere approve :)
