Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?
I just can’t pick one piece as my favorite. Could it be Mike Mignola:Jenny Finn #1 cover ? That was a book that i bought on release day & rushed home to try to recreate the cover myself, because i thought it had the perfect combination of beauty & creepy all rolled up in one ! Could it be my Hulk #300 page by Sal Buscema ? That was a comic that i must have read a hundred times as a kid. I was lucky enough to score the big Thor/Hulk battle page from the book. If you know what a huge Thor fan I am , you know that means a lot. Or maybe it’s something from my first 12 years of collecting , that I haven’t shared on CAF. It’s a tough question to answer & if i did , I’m sure the answer would change daily. I LOVE THEM ALL !
Please tell us a little about yourself.

How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?
I started collecting art in 1992. I would go to the Mid-Ohio-Con every year as a kid and just marvel at all the John Byrne art that Warden would bring to the show. But at that time, i was buying up Golden & Silver age comics and just didn’t have the extra money for original art. In 1992,I had just graduated and had started an apprenticeship. So i had a bit more cash then I had in previous years.I decided it was time to make that jump and start buying art, particularly BYRNE ! I would go every year to that show and others and just buy stacks of art. I noticed that my buying/collecting was getting a bit out of control & that I wanted to tighten my collection up a bit . So for about 20 years,I bought nothing but Thor art. These past few years I’ve opened up a bit and now buy whatever I like, mostly focusing on nostalgia.
How do you display/store your collection at home?
I used to frame select pieces , but i like change & It just didn’t seem fair to tuck so many other beauties away while a chosen few got all the limelight. So i took everything out of the frames & now store everything in Itoyas ,where i can look at them all anytime that I want to. Its a decision that I’m happy with, until every January when i pull everything out of the portfolios, add all of the prior years purchases to the collection and place them alphabetically back into the Itoyas. Its a big pain in the ass, but at the same time,I love doing it !
