Thanks for your kind comment. I have the honor of representing his family, selling hundreds of pieces of original illustration art by him. Norstrand passed away in 2010. Let me know if you are looking for anything special.
I agree, thanks for noticing. It is a prelim watercolor that Block later turned into a huge oil painting. But this looks better than the oil. Pat Block was really great at this time of his career.
Just wow! Congrats!
Congratulations - this ís a rare gemstone!
Thsank you for your comment. I did not know about that - very interesting.
I sold the original finished pencil on board years ago at my gallery. I should have kept it!
Great art! I thing I own Bjarne Hansens original color art for this page, if you are interested.
Great erotic art by Rebecca! But I have to correct you - this is not by Rebecca Guay, who is another artist. In this case Rebecca is an artist name. She is known for the Housewives at Play and Teens at Play series from Eros.
I have more than a weak point for these landscapes and simple countryside life paintings by Barks. For me they are much more personal than his Disney paintings - done for money and nothing else. For me, Carl Barks was a geniuos as a storyteller and comic artist, combined. He was second to none, and his influence cannot be overrated. As a painter, he probably wouldn't have been remembered at all - if he was not the Duck Man. This kind of paintings are true Barks. He wanted to live this simple life and paint for himself and friends and neighbors. But we all k now the rest of the story. I really, really tresure these paintings. More than his Disney paintings, actually. But that's just me.
Congrats! Few art collectors seems to know and appreciate this amazing, erotic artist. I have known and traded with original art by Rebecca for a decade, and her pencil work is as good as it gets.
Such a great strip. Let me know if you will ever sell this! I can wait for years...you know.
I saw the same exhibition in Paris years ago, maybe around 2010. It was one of the greatest art exhibitions I have ever seen. Simply amazing!
I love this. I heard that it was in a famous movie, hanging on an office wall. Just cannot remember which movie.
Excellent painting. I love Jeffrey Jones' landscapes.
I am so glad that you got them back! I was one of the collector's who contacted Rob. Happy ending!
What a treasure! Fantastic art with a unique story. This is a true rarity.
Excellent art. I am a huge fan of Casey Ruggles. This is no doubt one of the best Sundays. I am the lucky owner of a few fine examples too.
Surely this is one of the best Rip Kirby strips by Raymond. It would be a jewel in any collection. Congrats.
Simply amazing and historic art by the great Barks! I am so glad that the two half pages are together again!
This is no good...an artist like Gulacy should not deliver art like this to a fan for money. He should take it back and apologize and make a new.
Amazing japanese art! Don't be uncomfortable about this, Jeff. Hentai is a popular manga subgenre and appreciated by millions of japanese readers. Just fantasies - and extremely well executed by this talented artist. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the story, I enjoyed reading it!
Your collection has so many museum quality pieces. This is a page from my favorite Bilal and Christin story.
This is no doubt one of the best strips from The Black Pearl. Can you ask for more, really? We get a presentation of the title character, an image of Modesty and Willie, plus one of those Modesty portraits that makes Jim Holdaway the best Modesty Blaise artist ever.
This has got to be the mother of all Frazetta comic art pages! Last panel is like a painting.
Congrats! Rob, you got to open a Jeffrey Jones Museum, I will come and visit you then!
I never met Jeffrey in person, but I had the pleasure to correspond with him through the years and to be his Facebook friend. I have Jeffrey’s paintings hanging on my walls to remind me every day of how great an artist he was. Just like many of the world’s greatest artists he was a sensitive person, and I am sure he fought hard to cope with the challenges of life. Just look at his paintings, and you see a person who was clearly familiar with death as well as life. I am sure he has moved to a better place, and I am sure Heaven just got itself a new member, who will be sitting there for eternity, discussing art with Picasso, Renoir, Monet and the rest of the gang.
Great page, congrats! I still have the double page spread from the same story for sale if you should regret not buying it! Other CAF members are welcome too.
Sorry, Malcolm, no originals, but I wonder how you managed to sneek your name into an old drawing? That's the title, named by the artist! Lucky guy, this Malcolm on the drawing
Actually, The Phantom - for strange reasons - has always been very popular in Scandinavia and in Australia. The rest of the world seems to have forgotten this masked hero. In the long run the Scandinavian Phantom magazine needed filler stories. Air Hawk was a long running such filler - side by side with Torpedo 1936 by Bernet! Strange pairings indeed.
Boy, do i envy you, Royd! But only in a friendly way. I was reading John Dixon's Air Hawk strip in the Danish edition of The Phantom magazine back in the 1980's. I lived the strip, and I guess that's what made me fall in love with Australia. Please tell me more about the reprints - you have my mail - and if you like, pass my greetings to John Dixon and thank him for his fantastic adventure strip. It is the work of a man who loves people. Something as unusual as a humanitarian comic strip artist! Thanks, pal.
Did you meet her in person???? Woaw! How? When? Where? Why not me?
An excellent strip by the artist who is often overlooked, but in my eyes the second best Modesty Blaise artist after Holdaway. Great to see these strips surface, Wally!
You are an artist. All we want is your soul. DA-DAAAAAA!
Wouldn't that be cool! So nice of you to guess what I wish for X-mas ;-)
I appreciate your comment very much, thank you. I think this is an excellent piece with many layers. I love the reflections in the robot, the skeleton, the girl's pose and much more. Do you remember the year you did this?
Never heard of the artist before, but this is a great splash and I will definately look for more artwork by this guy! Looks like a classic illustration.
