Verily, a clash of Titans illustrated by a Titan!
Agreed! Thankfully for Conan, on the next page, Thoth Amon decides "now is not the time to battle", and Conan lives to fight another day. ;0)
SPECTACULAR page! Congratulations. Classic Sal Buscema energy.
Wow! I had no idea on that Easter egg. Looks like Fixx has 8 appreances in Dreadstar, so I guess now is as good a time as any to re-read my Dreadstar collection. Thanks!!
I remember seeing Stan make some guest appreances as well. I think he was in this Nova issue too. I wasn't aware Stan and Jack started this in FF. Guess it's time to crack open the Omnibus again for those early issues!
Thanks for catching the typo! I fixed the description. I have no idea why I wrote Len instead of Marv. I purposely double checked the panel to be sure I had the writer correct. Good thing I was never a proof reader....
Agreed! I think Koblish really nailed it on this one.
Nice! I wish I had been collecting art when pages were $20 to $50 instead of trying to find comic books in the $1 bins....
Agreed! Enough of a mystery for me to track down the issue to see what it's all about. My collection starts a few years after this issue, so the hunt is on.
Thank you for the comment! I totally agree. The people in the last panel are certainly not "look up in the sky, it's Superman" excited...they're pretty freaked out!
You are 100% correct! Been a while since the issue came out, so I just opened it, and on the next page, there are two more giant robots coming on to the scene and Johny takes the 1st one out. Good call.
Congratulations on a truly EPIC page from an epic storyline. Two big bold "SILVER SURFERS" printed on the same page. That's totally cool. I especially like panels 3 and 6. But I'm biased since John Buscema has been my all time favorite artist from day one (somewhere in the 1970s...)
Pretty much my all time favorite character...you've got a wonderful selection to choose from....I think I'll pick this one as my favorite for today!! Congrats!
Wonderful page from one of my all time favorite stories. Both JMS and Gary Frank were at the top of their game for this maxi-series. I re-read it every year. Congrats on scoring a page.
I can see that.....possibly due to Klaus' inks?
Great artist. Great character. Perfect combination. Congrats!
3 way cover tie for me....FF #112, Silver Surfer #4 and Avengers #57. Congratulations on acquiring such a fantastic piece of art!
FANTASTIC (x4) splash! Brings back lots of childhood memories. Congratulations!
He's doing a tricep exercise. Gotta stay fit and trim for those savage tales... Excellent piece!! I almost bought this from Lee in ~2016 but already had a Batman and a Hulk in my hands (please see my gallery if interested) and just couldn't swing it. LOL.
Definitely a GRAIL piece. Absolutely stunning. John Buscema is my all time favorite comic artist, and I've been a Conan fan since high school those many many years ago.... ;o) Congratulations!!
The Thing is one of my all time favorite characters and this sketch is OUTSTANDING. Well done by Mr. Bagley. Congrats!
Agreed! I remember him asking "how about a splash of color?".....what...was I going to say no? It is now framed and proudly displayed.
Haha...thank you!! I've been a fan of this website for years and finally joined last year. This weekend I had a free Sunday afternoon and decided to step out of my comfort zone and actually post every piece of art I own even though it's nothing in comparison to everyone else here. Some of these pieces were even purchased from other comicartfans members! But this is a great way to show my friends and family more about this hobby, so I figured why not? Also I totally agree with your comments about Lee Weeks. A tremendous talent and a very nice man.
Thank you very much. I got goosebumps when I saw it the first time and it still thrills me every time I see it.
